Oman Joins UAE in Celebrating Eid Al Etihad — A Heartfelt Gesture of Gulf Unity in 2025
The Eid Al Etihad celebrations in 2025 took on an extra layer of significance as Sultanate of Oman formally joined its neighbour, United Arab Emirates (UAE), in commemorating the UAE’s 54th National Day, held on 2 December. This gesture reflects the deep-rooted friendship, cooperation, and solidarity between the two Gulf nations.
In Oman, the festivities took place at the Al Khatm border crossing in Al Buraimi Governorate, where the Secretariat General of National Celebrations and the Royal Oman Police coordinated a vibrant program of cultural and patriotic events. The celebrations included musical performances by the Royal Oman Police Music Band, artistic displays, and a further tribute held at Al Khuwair Square on 24 November — all culminating in a heartfelt show of unity.
Beyond Al Buraimi, the celebrations spread to the Al Wajajah border crossing, welcoming citizens, officials, and guests from the UAE. The program featured performances including traditional music, and — in North Al Batinah Governorate — a unique “Al Hambal” display on camelback, with Omani and Emirati flags carried side by side. The festivities concluded with a patriotic song embodying the shared heritage, mutual respect, and strong ties between the two nations.
Oman’s participation in Eid Al Etihad celebrations comes as a reaffirmation of “fraternal relations and good neighborliness” between the two countries. The joint celebration serves as a model of regional solidarity and cultural affinity, underlining decades of diplomatic, social, and historical bonds that continue to unite Oman and the UAE.
As the Gulf region marks this shared celebration, Eid Al Etihad 2025 stands out as a symbol not just of national pride for the UAE, but of collaborative spirit across borders — with Oman joining hands to honor unity, friendship, and a collective vision for the future.
