Passengers may think landing an aircraft is easy and comfortable, but it is a highly choreographed and coordinated procedure by highly trained personnel who are more concerned with safety than comfort. Sometimes, pilots will intentionally land in a hard manner to gain stability, to better handle the braking or to adjust to weather or the runway conditions. These may be unexpected or uncomfortable landings, but are the most likely and most effective way to maintain the safety of all those on board at times of critical flight operations.
