Abu Dhabi Police announced an Initiative mandating a third rear license plate for vehicles that sport a boot-attached bike rack. Police said that blocking a vehicle's plate is a fineable offense.
The initiative is aimed at motorists who may have to obscure the rear plates to fix a rear-mounted cycle rack.
According to Article 27B of the Ministerial Decision No. 178 (2017), unclear vehicle plate numbers attract a fine of AED 400.
