An Indian expat reportedly passed away because of a cardiac arrest during a flight to Chennai International Airport from Muscat.

The passenger is reported to have passed away in a suspected case of cardiac arrest.

The man worked in Muscat and was travelling back home for vacations, according to media reports.

Once the flight landed at the airport in Chennai, the passenger remained seated while the rest left the aircraft.

The cabin crew assumed the man had fallen asleep and attempted to wake him.

However, when he did not stir, the crew found him unconscious and quickly alerted the ground authorities.

A medical team transported the passenger to the airport's medical center where the medical professionals declared the man dead.

While the airport police initiated the necessary procedures for the post-mortem examination, the airport authorities informed the passenger's family.
