Morrisons is rolling into what it is calling a 'sizable restructuring initiative' and will be shutting some 100 Morrisons Daily convenience stores in the year. The supermarket's move is part of its store performance analysis and is aimed at boosting the strength of its overall retail network, the store says. There are numerous sites that will remain open, but chosen branches will be expected to close and impact both staff and the local community. Morrisons has said it will collaborate with impacted employees as much as possible and will remain investing in stores which it believes to have a better longer-term outlook. The closures are related to changes in consumer spending patterns, business expenses, and sustainability of the company's business.
