Delegations from Oman and Qatar joined officials and international dignitaries in Tehran on Friday to pay their respects to Iran's late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Shura Council Speaker of Qatar, Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, led the Qatari delegation at the farewell ceremony. During the funeral service, Al Ghanim conveyed the condolences of the State of Qatar to Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, senior officials, and the family of the late leader, expressing deep sympathy to the people of Iran.

The ceremony in Tehran was attended by several global figures. Along with the Omani and Qatari delegations, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Russian ex-president Dmitry Medvedev, and the foreign minister of Afghanistan's Taliban government were also present to offer their condolences.

The body of the late Supreme Leader will be taken to the cities of Qom, Najaf, and Kerbala before the final burial. He will be laid to rest on Thursday in Mashhad, home to the country's holiest pilgrim shrine.

Authorities expect millions of mourners to participate in the public processions and memorial events ahead of the burial next week.
