Ooredoo Group just made it official: Saoud Hamad Al Riyami is now the Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Oman, effective August 4, 2025.

He’s not new to the role either. Saoud had been Acting CEO since February after Bassam Yousef Al Ibrahim stepped down. And now, the company’s giving him the permanent spot — a big vote of confidence in his leadership.

A veteran in the Ooredoo family

Saoud’s been with Ooredoo Oman since way back in 2009. He’s worn a lot of hats over the years — from leading business sales to heading up wholesale and ICT solutions.

With over 20 years of experience and a strong grip on the local market, his promotion feels like a natural next step. He studied at Sultan Qaboos University and also holds a leadership diploma.

What’s next?

The company says Saoud’s appointment marks the start of a new chapter focused on growth and innovation. And with his background, they’re clearly betting on someone who knows both the business and the country inside out.
