Israel launched airstrikes on Yemen's Sanaa International Airport, targeting Houthi-controlled infrastructure on Tuesday, May 6.
The Israeli military reported disabling the airport's runway, destroying three civilian planes, and striking the al-Dailami Air Base and nearby power stations. The strikes followed a Houthi missile attack near Israel's Ben Gurion Airport, which injured eight people and briefly disrupted air traffic.
Before the attack, the Israel Defense Forces issued evacuation warnings to residents near the airport.
Houthi-run Health Ministry reported casualties from the strikes, including three deaths and 38 injuries.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "I have said many times that whoever attacks the State of Israel – let his blood be on his head."
The country's Defence Minister, Israel Katz, emphasized that Iran would "bear the full consequences” for any attack by its Houthi allies.
