The 22nd Marrakech International Film Festival, running from November 28 to December 6, 2025, has announced a star-studded jury that includes Jenna Ortega and Anya Taylor‑Joy.
Leading the panel is Oscar‑winning filmmaker Bong Joon Ho, known for Parasite. Joining him are eight prominent figures in global cinema from four continents.
Jenna Ortega, best known for her breakout role in Wednesday and genre works like Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, adds youthful energy and a fresh perspective to the jury. Meanwhile, Anya Taylor‑Joy, whose credits include The Queen’s Gambit, Dune: Part Two, and Furiosa, brings her international experience and nuanced understanding of storytelling.
They will be joined by a diverse group: Brazilian director Karim Aïnouz, French director Julia Ducournau, Canadian filmmaker Celine Song, Moroccan auteur Hakim Belabbes, and Iranian actor-director Payman Maadi, creating a panel that spans generations and cinematic traditions.
This jury will be responsible for evaluating 14 first and second feature films in the festival’s main competition—a role that underscores Marrakech Film Festival’s commitment to discovering new international talent.
The winners will be announced at the closing ceremony on December 6, capping off a week of vibrant cinema and cross-cultural conversation.
