Various Malaysian civil societies announced their plans on Saturday, June 14, to launch the 'Thousand Ship Flotilla', the world's largest maritime mobilization, to break the Israeli siege on Gaza.
The campaign will involve the dispatchment of many vessels from various continents in a coordinated effort to deliver humanitarian aid and to end Israel's siege.
The head of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisations (MAPIM), Azmi Abdul Hamid, revealed the campaign at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
According to Hamid, the Malaysian civil organization is already coordinating with civil societies in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, with the campaign receiving "unprecedented support".
The organizers of this flotilla have called on governments around the world to protect their nationals participating in this campaign.
