SalamAir Temporarily Suspends Flights to Pakistan

Oman's low-cost airline SalamAir announced a temporary suspension of Pakistani flights.

Flights were suspended on Thursday, May 8, and will remain suspended for 48 hours because of ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.

Flights will be resumed when possible, until then, the airline said that affected customers will be contacted.

Regional airlines including Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways cancelled flights to northern India and Pakistan.

The announcement came after Asian airlines rerouted flights after India launched Operation Sindhoor against Pakistan on Wednesday.

Indian carriers cancelled about 430 flights on Thursday, and 27 airports in the country will be closed until Saturday, May 10.
