At least two people have been killed and several others injured after two drones crashed in the northern Omani port city of Sohar. A security source confirmed the casualties to state media following the incidents, which took place in both industrial and open zones of the city.

According to official reports, one of the drones fell in the Al Awhi industrial area, a vital hub for manufacturing and logistics in the region. The impact resulted in the deaths of two foreign citizens. Emergency medical teams were dispatched to the site to treat several others who sustained injuries during the crash.

A second drone was reported to have crashed in a separate, open area. Fortunately, no injuries or significant property damage were reported in the second location.

Omani authorities confirmed that emergency response teams were deployed immediately to secure both sites. The area has been cordoned off to ensure public safety and to allow specialized units to conduct their work.

An official investigation has been launched to determine the origin of the drones and the circumstances leading to their crash. While the investigation is in its preliminary stages, security officials are working to identify the technical specifications of the aircraft involved.

In the wake of the incident, officials have issued a strong advisory to the public. Citizens and residents are urged to refrain from circulating unverified images, videos, or rumors related to the crashes on social media.

"The public should rely only on official sources for information to ensure accuracy and prevent the spread of misinformation," a government spokesperson stated.

The city of Sohar, located approximately 200 kilometers northwest of Muscat, is home to one of the region's most significant ports and industrial complexes. Local authorities have assured residents that all necessary measures are being taken to maintain the security and stability of the area.
