Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority chief, Turki Alalshikh, has officially announced that former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will make a blockbuster return at Riyadh Season 2026.
Fury, who retired earlier this year following a rematch loss to Oleksandr Usyk, reportedly gave his word to Alalshikh.
“The ‘Gypsy King’ will be back!!! I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in Riyadh Season in 2026. We have a rabbit to hunt.”
This compelling statement was posted on X, signaling a dramatic return after his January retirement.
What’s on the Horizon: Rivals and Stakes
Fury’s comeback isn’t just about making a dramatic re-entry—it’s about settling unfinished business. He revealed his top targets are a third clash with Oleksandr Usyk, followed by a massive showdown with Anthony Joshua if Usyk proves elusive .
The trilogy fight with Usyk remains Fury’s primary goal, but if that falls through, the long-anticipated British rivalry against Joshua could steal the spotlight later in 2026. With Joshua nearing the end of his career, matchups fuelled by Alalshikh’s backing—including Riyadh as a potential venue—could finally materialize.
Under the leadership of Alalshikh, Riyadh Season has become a prime stage for high-profile boxing events, staging Tyson Fury’s 2024 matchups against Usyk and Francis Ngannou in the Kingdom Arena.
