In order to change the behavior of consumers toward sustainable waste management, and to reduce the use of single single-use bags, Dubai approves policy to limit single-use bags.
The Executive Council of Dubai has approved the policy to limit single-use bags that are used for carrying goods by imposing a tariff of 25 fils on each bag. This policy will start in Dubai from 1 July 2022 in all stores including restaurants, pharmacies, and e-commerce deliveries.
The limit single-use bags policy will be evaluated over several stages until single-use carrier bags are completely banned within 2 years.
