The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai on Saturday issued an order which allows fully vaccinated travellers from the UAE to avoid institutional quarantine at Mumbai airport.

Under the existing SOPs with regard to compulsory institutional quarantine, the passengers from or transiting through the UK, Europe, Middle East, South Africa and Brazil were required to undergo mandatory institutional quarantine for seven days, followed by seven days of home quarantine after landing in Mumbai.

“A person who has taken two vaccine jabs is not required to go for institutional quarantine now. He does not need any quarantine for that matter,” Suresh Kakani, additional commissioner of Mumbai’s municipal corporation, told The National.
