Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a health advisory urging travellers from countries affected by the Ebola outbreak to monitor their health for 21 days. This follows global health alerts related to cases reported in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The advisory, outlined in Circular No.1 of 2026, was issued based on guidance from the World Health Organisation regarding the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus.
Working closely with Oman’s health authorities, the CAA has asked airlines operating in the country and travellers flying from or to affected regions to follow precautionary health measures before, during, and after travel.
Travellers are advised to avoid unnecessary trips to outbreak-hit areas, stay updated with official health notices, and ensure they have proper medical and evacuation insurance.
Passengers are also encouraged to avoid contact with people showing symptoms like fever, bleeding, vomiting or diarrhoea, and to stay away from bodily fluids, wild animals, and uncooked meat.
The CAA stressed that travellers arriving from affected regions should seek medical help immediately if symptoms appear and inform health authorities about their travel history.
