The Omani Ministry of Labour has issued a decision to endorse a system for measuring the adequacy of job performance and productivity of employees.

The job performance adequacy measurement system will be based on a unified methodology for evaluating the performance of the State's Administrative Apparatus' employees and other public legal persons.

The provisions of the system apply to the employees who are in service for a period of more than six months, Mohammed Mubarak Al Kalbani, Assistant Project Manager for the individual performance measurement system, Ejada, told Oman News Agency (ONA).

The system will be effective from the day following its date of publishing in the Official Gazette, said Al Kalbani.

The assessment of the job performance adequacy will be measured by evaluating the employees' performance based on their career plans. The performance will be reviewed at the end of the year to ensure a fair evaluation of the results

Based on 18 items distributed on a number of topics, the adequacy of the employee's performance is estimated as per one of the specified ranks: excellent/efficient, very good/above average, good, fair/medium/satisfactory, or weak/unsatisfactory.
