It’s official: as of July 1, 2025, Oman has made it mandatory to use IBAN for all local bank transfers. Whether you're sending money within Oman or abroad, you'll now need your beneficiary's IBAN to get the job done.
The Central Bank of Oman says this change will help cut down payment errors, improve transfer speed, and make banking smoother for everyone.
