One of the Sultanate of Oman's most distinguished landmarks, Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel, is set to embark on a transformative journey. The Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) has announced the commencement of a comprehensive redevelopment project aimed at elevating the property's status and ensuring its continued competitiveness in the global hospitality market.

The historic hotel will remain fully operational and continue welcoming guests until June 30, 2026. Major renovation works are scheduled to begin on July 1, 2026, and are expected to span a period of up to two years before the property reopens with a renewed identity.

A Vision for Modern Excellence

The ambitious redevelopment plan focuses on a holistic upgrade of the guest experience. Key areas of intervention include the refurbishment of guest rooms and suites, modernization of food and beverage venues, and an enhancement of the spa and wellness amenities. Additionally, the project will see significant upgrades to public spaces, the hotel's core infrastructure, technology systems, and operational frameworks.

These improvements are designed to align the property with the latest international standards and best practices in the hospitality sector, thereby boosting operational efficiency and service excellence. As part of OMRAN Group's broader strategic vision, the project aims to preserve the quality of Oman's tourism assets while ensuring their long-term sustainability and relevance in an evolving global market.

Honoring Heritage While Embracing the Future

Since its opening in 1985, Al Bustan Palace has stood as a symbol of Omani hospitality. Renowned for its breathtaking location overlooking the Sea of Oman and its architecture deeply inspired by Omani heritage, the hotel has played a pivotal role in the development of the Sultanate's tourism sector. It remains one of the region's most prominent destinations for luxury travelers.

Upon its completion, the hotel will unveil a refreshed iteration that balances its rich legacy with future-forward requirements. The goal is to strengthen its position not only as a premier destination within Oman but also as a leading hospitality hub across the Middle East.

This milestone underscores Oman's commitment to investing in its tourism infrastructure, ensuring that iconic properties like Al Bustan Palace continue to define the high standards of the Sultanate's world-class visitor experience for generations to come.
