According to the Future Readiness Index report, the UAE ranked first among Arab countries and third among 27 emerging global economies.

These ranking are based on four main pillars - institutions and infrastructure, technology, talent, and innovation.

Compared to the 27 emerging economies on the index, the UAE ranked second in both Institutions & Infrastructure and Talent pillars, third in "Technology" and fourth in "Innovation", ahead of China, Russia and India.

The main pillars include 15 sub-pillars that monitor governments’ ability to prepare for the future, embrace digital transformation, invest in human capital, attract talent, and invest in research and development, among others.

The report provides countries with a valuable tool to measure their future-readiness, and serve as a guide to their strategy choices and policy decisions.

The report is issued by the Portulans Institute in partnership with Google.
