Certain Parts of Oman Witness a Power Outage

Parts of Oman experienced a sudden partial electricity outage affecting multiple governorates, the Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) confirmed early Monday.

The disruption was traced to issues in the electricity network, leaving many residents temporarily without power.

Licensed electricity companies responded immediately, dispatching technical teams to assess and repair the fault. According to APSR, most affected areas have already had power restored, while efforts continue to normalize service in the remaining locations.

The outage also affected traffic signals and other essential services in certain areas, resulting in disruptions. APSR and Nama Electricity Distribution Company have urged any subscribers still experiencing problems to contact the licensed company’s call center at 1011 for assistance.

Authorities have confirmed that several power stations were affected due to supply issues. Many of these stations have now resumed operation, while technical teams work to bring the remaining stations back online.

While the exact cause of the outage is still under investigation, the swift restoration efforts have been praised by residents. Full electricity supply has been restored in Muscat and other major governorates. Only a few remote or less connected communities are still experiencing the effects.
