Children of UAE are lucky, Why?

World Children's Day is celebrated on 20 November each year, and it was first established in 1954 to promote international togetherness and awareness among children worldwide and improve children's welfare. Children of the UAE are lucky because of many reasons that give them a decent life. Therefore, they consider the UAE their second home! Find out why children living in UAE are lucky and why families prefer to live in the UAE.   

Reasons why children of UAE are lucky 

UAE is one of the countries that provide children of citizens and residents alike full attention and care within a supportive and sustainable environment that enhances their capabilities and skills.   

Receiving proper education 

Education

Education has been one of the UAE’s highest priorities since 1971 as President His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the UAE, noted, "The greatest use that can be made of wealth is to invest it in creating generations of educated and trained people”. Therefore, the UAE has made tremendous strides in education, and they are proud to offer a range of educational options for children that prepare UAE students to attend universities around the world and compete in the global marketplace. Besides different education curriculums in the UAE, the UAE provides education and learning services for students with special needs, and MOE in the UAE follows strategies to integrate special needs students in regular schools.

UAE is one of the top countries in creating a healthy environment and health care facilities that are maternal and child friendly. In addition, the UAE Was ranked one of the Top 10 most efficient healthcare systems in the world in 2018 due to the high health infrastructure and the standard of healthcare they follow.

Wadeema’s Law 

Wadeema’s Law was launched by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on March 15, 2016, and it is the federal law concerning child rights.  

The ‘Child Protection Unit’ initiative 

‘Child Protection Unit’ was launched by The Ministry of Education (MoE), targeting the students of government and private schools across the UAE. The initiative aims to protect children from all forms of harm, negligence, and abuse that they may experience in the surrounding environment at school or home and maintain the safety of students from the physical, psychological or educational perspectives. 

Hemayati app 

Hemayati, an Arabic word that means “protect me”, is a smart mobile app to report child abuse cases in the UAE. Hemayati app allows children to send alerts to their parents when they are in danger, although it helps parents track their children's movements.

Ministry of Interior has established a number where anyone can report child abuse to them through the hotline number 116111, or the MoI’s Child Protection Centre's website.
