A complaint was filed against Bollywood actor and 'Animal' star Ranbir Kapoor over the viral video of the Kapoors' Christmas lunch.

The video features Ranbir Kapoor saying 'Jai Mata Di' while lighting on fire a cake after alcohol is poured over it by another family member. 

The Complaint Against Ranbir Kapoor

The complaint was filed by Sanjay Tiwari at the Ghatkopar Police Station in Mumbai against Ranbir Kapoor and his family members for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of the Hindu community.

In his complaint, Tiwari explained that the phrase 'Jai Mata Di' is used to invoke the fire god and the phrase can be used in front of other deities. 

Tiwari has complained that Kapoor and his family used the phrase during a different religious festival and while pouring alcohol over their cake. 

He alleged that his religious sentiments were hurt after Ranbir Kapoor uttered the phrase in such a situation.  

Although, Tiwari has filed a complaint, no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered yet.
