Royal Oman Police Announces Official Holiday on January 8
ROP Annual Day marked with holiday for regular-hour staff as police services continue around the clock.

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced that Thursday, January 8, 2026, will be an official holiday for its personnel who work under the regular working-hours system, in celebration of the force’s Annual Police Day.
In its announcement to citizens and residents, the ROP clarified that the holiday applies specifically to staff operating within standard hours, while police stations and units that provide round-the-clock services will continue to operate and deliver essential public services without interruption.
The designated Annual Day holiday honors the Royal Oman Police’s longstanding role in maintaining security, public safety and community service across the Sultanate. The announcement allows officers and administrative staff to observe the occasion with due recognition of the institution’s contributions.
