The A’Dakhiliyah Governorate has officially unveiled the full details of the Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival 2026, a major summer tourism event scheduled to run for 45 days from July 15 to August 29. The announcement follows a preparatory meeting involving governmental bodies, private sector entities, and strategic partners tasked with organizing the celebration.
The festival aims to solidify the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar's status as a premier summer tourist destination while driving socioeconomic mobility through the launch of new development and tourism projects. Organizers have confirmed that all sites are being prepared according to high standards of quality and organization to accommodate an expected rise in visitor numbers.
New Projects and Infrastructure
Coinciding with the festival’s organization, several new developmental initiatives are set to become operational. Most notably, these include the Al Jabal Al Akhdar Park project and various upgrades to public facilities and services. These additions are designed to enrich the overall visitor experience and ensure the region is fully ready to host guests throughout the season.
During the preparatory meeting, contracts were signed with executing companies responsible for accompanying events and programs. Attendees also reviewed action plans related to event management, public services, and facility maintenance.

The festival maintains a strong focus on economic impact through the Mountain Bazaar and the Taste Passion Zone. These areas will feature more than 85 participants, comprising Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), productive families, farmers, local restaurants, cafes, and retail stores. "The organization of this year's festival coincides with the operational launch of several new developmental and tourism projects," Sheikh Mahmoud noted. "It aims to enhance the tourism sector's contribution to local development in alignment with the targets of Oman Vision 2040 and the A’Dakhiliyah Governorate strategy."
He highlighted that the event serves as an integrated platform to showcase economic, tourism, and investment opportunities. By maximizing the utilization of natural and heritage assets, the festival seeks to transform seasonal tourism into genuine opportunities for sustainable economic development, community empowerment, and the attraction of qualitative investments.
