Jabal Akhdar Festival 2025 showcases cultural heritage, drives economic growth, attracts 300,000 visitors under Oman Vision 2040.
The Jabal Akhdar Festival 2025 has welcomed more than 150,000 visitors between August 1–15, with numbers expected to exceed 300,000 by the end of August, according to officials.
The event, held in Oman’s A’Dakhiliyah Governorate, highlights the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage while supporting economic growth under Oman Vision 2040.
Sheikh Hilal Said Al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, told the Oman News Agency (ONA) that government and private investments in Jabal Akhdar have surpassed OMR 13 million, boosting infrastructure, tourism projects, and quality of life.
“These projects include Jabal Akhdar Park, worth over OMR 1.1 million, completed internal road projects of OMR 1.37 million, and an additional package under implementation valued at OMR 1.4 million,” Al Hajri said.
The governor also revealed that four new investment contracts worth OMR 8.5 million have been signed for tourism and commercial facilities, including an integrated commercial complex, an open-air 3D plaza, and mountain viewpoints.
The festival program features 65 SMEs, 10 local farmers, and over 60 temporary jobs, offering visitors cultural performances, food stalls, handicrafts, and family-friendly attractions. Highlights include the “Rummana” initiative, showcasing local pomegranate products through live demonstrations and marketing platforms.
Officials noted that the rise in hotel occupancy and visitor turnout reflects the success of coordinated promotional efforts between government, private sector, and the local community.
The governor stressed that the Jabal Akhdar Festival represents a sustainable tourism model: “It reinforces the wilayat’s status as a leading destination on Oman’s tourism map, while empowering SMEs and local families.”
With its combination of cultural showcases, entertainment, and outdoor experiences, the Jabal Akhdar Festival 2025 is positioning itself as one of Oman’s most significant tourism events.
