The Muttrah cable car project will soon be launched in Oman Hamad Al Wahaibi, a member of the Municipal Council of the Wilayat of Muttra told Times of Oman.

According to Al Wahaibi, the departure point of the cable car project will be at the fish market stands at the Corniche in the Wilayat of Muttrah and the project is expected to start this year.

"We are awaiting the permits from the Muscat Municipality and once it is cleared, the vital tourism project will be implemented soon.” he added.

There will also be an exciting stopover point where riders can have drinks such as coffee/tea/juices at the middle point in front of Al-Riyam Park while the end point will be in Kalbouh park.

Al Wahaibi said the number of cable cars will be 34 designed in the shape of the letter V for a distance of around 5 km. The ride will cost about OMR4-6 OMR per person.
