Oman has reiterated its firm support for international law and state sovereignty following recent developments in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, calling on all parties to exercise restraint and prioritise dialogue to avoid further escalation.

In an official statement, the Sultanate’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored that Oman’s foreign policy is rooted in respect for the sovereignty and independence of states, as well as adherence to international law, amid rising regional and international concern over the situation in Venezuela.

The ministry urged all involved parties to show “maximum restraint” and to empower dialogue as the primary path toward de-escalation and reconciliation. It stressed that any political or diplomatic efforts should serve the Venezuelan people’s security, stability and safety, while respecting their legitimate choices.

Oman also reaffirmed its full support for initiatives led by the United Nations aimed at safeguarding international peace and security, emphasising the organisation’s central role in resolving disputes through peaceful means.

The statement reflects Muscat’s long-standing diplomatic approach of neutrality, dialogue and multilateral cooperation in addressing international crises, particularly those that risk undermining regional stability and global order.
