The Royal Oman Police have arrested an international drug smuggling network who were smuggling more than six million Captagon tablets in Oman.

The General Administration for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances has carried out diligent monitoring and tracking operations to hunt down the smugglers.

The narcotics team found boxes of packaged Captagon pills at the location and arrested the smugglers and referred them to the competent authorities. 

Legal procedures are being carried out against the smuggling network. 

The Royal Oman Police has also released an episode for a radio program titled "The Most Important National Efforts to Combat Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances", which highlights the local efforts taking place to fight drug smuggling and drug abuse. 

In 2022, the Saudi Navy seized a boat in the Gulf of Oman carrying 3,330 kilograms of hashish and heroin, valued at $20 million.
