The suspects, one Egyptian and one Sudanese, were caught with more than 20kg of crystal methamphetamine and hashish in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, located in Muscat Governorate.
According to the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, the arrests were part of an ongoing effort to fight drug trafficking across the Sultanate.
Investigations are still underway, and authorities say more legal action is expected.
Oman has been tightening its grip on narcotics in recent years, focusing on breaking up smuggling operations and cracking down on the distribution of illegal substances. The Royal Oman Police continues to urge the public to report any suspicious activity as part of the country’s growing anti-drug campaign.
