Oman’s Ministry of Labour is giving expats and employers one last chance: renew your labour cards (work visas) and sort out your legal status before July 31, 2025—or face penalties.
No Extensions After the Deadline
The grace period has been open since February and will officially close at the end of July. After that? No more applications. So if you’ve been putting it off, now’s the time to act.
What’s Covered in the Waiver
Here’s what you’ll save on if you regularise now:
-
No fines for expired labour cards inactive for 7+ years
-
No airfare fees for workers who left Oman before 2018
-
Cancelled labour cards unused for over 10 years
-
Waivers for liquidated companies
To stay clear of trouble, workers must either renew labour cards, pay fees for the next 2 years, transfer services, or cancel absconding reports.
How to Apply
Applications are open until July 31, 2025, through the Ministry of Labour’s website and official service centers.
