Muscat Parks to Stay Open Until Midnight (and Later) This Ramadan

Ramadan nights in Muscat are about to get longer — in a good way.

Muscat Municipality has announced extended opening hours for public parks and gardens across the governorate for Ramadan 1447 AH, making it easier for everyone to step out, unwind, and catch up with friends after Iftar.

New Ramadan Timings

Here’s how it’s going to work:

  • Saturday to Wednesday: 4:00 pm to 12:00 am

  • Thursday and Friday: 4:00 pm to 1:00 am

That extra hour on weekends? Perfect for late-night walks, family picnics, or just sitting under the night sky when the weather finally cools down.

Why the Change?

Ramadan flips the daily routine. Days are quieter, but evenings come alive. The updated schedule is designed to match that shift, giving residents more time to enjoy green spaces during peak social hours.

The move reflects the municipality’s push to keep public spaces accessible and community-friendly during the holy month.

So if your post-Iftar plan includes fresh air and a slow stroll, Muscat’s parks are staying open late to make it happen.
