Oman Arrests One Citizen for Smuggling Narcotics

Oman authorities have arrested a citizen for smuggling narcotic substances in Dhofar Governorate, Royal Oman Police (ROP) said.
More than 500 packages of khat were seized from his possession.
"The Dhofar Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the Special Tasks Police, arrested a citizen on charges of smuggling narcotic substances with the intention of trafficking in them." ROP said in a statement.
The accused has been referred to the relevant authorities, and action will be taken against him, the ROP added.
