Oman to Host the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier on These Dates

The Men's FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers will be held in Oman in January from the 15th to the 21st, according to a Thursday announcement from the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

This comes after the international organization decided to cancel Pakistan's hosting of Olympic qualifying events owing to recent changes in the National Hockey Federation's governance situation.

The FIH claims that Oman had previously expressed a desire to participate in the bidding process at an early point.

The tournament will take place in Muscat from January 15 to 21, 2024. Spain (Women's and Men's - 13-21 January) and China (Women's - 15-21 January 2024) will host the other two FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers.

Oman Hockey Association (OHA) president, Dr. Al Juma said, "Oman will hog the limelight of the hockey world in January and I thank the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for the full support."

The Paris hockey Olympic tournaments will be held from 27th July to 9th August next year.
