Why Culture Seems So Personal These Days

Back when I was younger, culture felt like this big shared thing, you know, like everyone watching the same movies or listening to the top songs on the radio. It was distant in a way, just trends we all kind of followed without it getting too deep. But now, it is different. Everything we take in, from what we stream to what we argue about online, ties right into who we are. I think technology and social media pushed this along, along with how values have shifted over time. It is not collective anymore, it feels way more individual, like culture is custom made for each person.
