Looking to become a teacher in Oman? Here’s your shot. The Ministry of Labour just launched 1,000 training opportunities for male Omani graduates under the Diploma in Educational Qualification programme. This move is part of a government push to prep locals for roles in the Ministry of Education—and it’s fully funded.
What’s the Deal?
The programme will run for nine months, covering two semesters and at least 30 credit hours. It comes with a monthly stipend of RO120, and yes—it includes hands-on training in Omani schools. Graduates will be evaluated for future teaching jobs under the Ministry of Education.
Who Can Apply?
You need to:
-
Be a male Omani national
-
Hold a bachelor’s degree (from a recognized full-time programme)
-
Have a minimum GPA of 2.3
-
Be registered as a jobseeker with the Ministry
-
Pass a subject-specific test
-
Be medically fit
-
Not have received government-funded training before
Depending on your major, you’ll also need a minimum number of credit hours—60 for humanities and skills, 45 for applied disciplines.
How It Ends
Once you finish the diploma, you’re in the pipeline for potential recruitment as a government school teacher. Basically: study, train, and possibly get hired—all with financial support.
