Belavia Launches First Direct Flight from Minsk to Salalah

Salalah Airport has welcomed the inaugural direct flight of Belarusian airline Belavia, officially linking Minsk International Airport with Salalah in the Sultanate of Oman.

The new route, operating once a week, marks a significant step in Oman Airports’ ongoing efforts to expand direct air connections between Oman and emerging tourist destinations in Eastern Europe.

According to Oman Airports, the launch aligns with the growing relations between Oman and Belarus, which have seen rapid development following His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s official visit to Belarus earlier this year.

The visit paved the way for broader bilateral cooperation in the economic, tourism, and investment sectors. The new air link is expected to further enhance this partnership, offering greater accessibility for travelers and investors from both countries.

In a statement, Oman Airports affirmed that the launch of the Belavia flight is a qualitative addition to the air connectivity network, underscoring its role in boosting Dhofar Governorate’s status as a global tourism destination, particularly during the Khareef season, when visitor numbers surge.

The cooperation also reflects the growing interest of European airlines in expanding operations to Oman, drawn by the Sultanate’s unique landscapes, natural beauty, and rich cultural heritage.

With this new addition, Oman continues to strengthen its position as a regional aviation hub and a gateway to diverse travel experiences connecting the Middle East with Europe.
