Fireworks Show Marks H.M. Sultan Haitham's Accession Anniversary

A spectacular fireworks display lit up the night sky in the Wilayat of Seeb on Sunday evening, marking the anniversary of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s accession to the throne of the Sultanate of Oman.

The dazzling show drew widespread appreciation from residents and visitors alike, symbolizing national pride and celebration on this cherished occasion.

Organised under the banner of Oman’s Accession Day festivities, the pyrotechnic event featured vibrant colours and intricate formations, transforming the skyline above Seeb into a breathtaking visual spectacle. Crowds gathered across the Governorate of Muscat to enjoy the display, reflecting the joy and unity felt by the people of Oman as they honoured their leader.

The anniversary, celebrated annually on January 11, not only commemorates Sultan Haitham’s rise to the throne but also underscores the nation’s ongoing development and progress under his leadership. Across the Sultanate, various cultural and educational events, including student operettas and artistic performances, have formed part of the broader celebrations this year, reinforcing themes of national identity and unity.

In addition to the fireworks, Sultan Haitham’s accession anniversary has been marked with gestures of goodwill, including a royal pardon granted to more than 330 inmates, highlighting the Sultan’s humanitarian approach and commitment to societal harmony.

The festivities occur within a broader context of national reflection and forward momentum, with Oman’s leadership unveiling major initiatives aimed at enhancing economic welfare and development as part of the country’s Vision 2040 goals.

As the night sky faded from its fireworks splendour, the celebrations served as both a tribute to Sultan Haitham’s tenure and a symbol of Oman’s aspirations for a prosperous future.
