Heavy Rains and Strong Winds to Continue in Oman

An official from Oman Meteorology reported that the governates of North and South Al Batinah will continue to have moderate to heavy rainfall on Tuesday morning and the governate of Muscat will follow.

The Sultanate experienced moderate to heavy rainfall in most of its governates on Monday evening. The governates of North Al Batinah, Musandam, Al Buraimi and Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, and South Al Batinah witnessed heavy rainfall on Tuesday morning.

The heavy rainfall led to the overflowing of valleys. Wadi Ahin overflew in the Wilayat of Sohar in the Governorate of North Al Batinah. The overflow occurred in Wadi Wasit and Sahban in the same Wilayat as well as Wadi Shavan, Wadi Al Sarmi, and Wadi Al-Hawasneh in the Wilayat of Al-Khaboura in Al-Batinah North Governorate.

Other valleys that overflowed included Wadi Majzi, Wadi Al-Kabir, and Wadi Al-Ain in the Wilayat of Ibri in the Al-Dhahirah Governorate.

The Falaj Al-Sudairiyyin Dam in the Wilayat of Yanqul flooded, which led to the overflow of Wadi Falaj Al-Sudairiyyin and Wadi Al-Maaden.

Wadi Al-Sulail and Misfat Al Abrieen overflowed in the Wilayat of Al-Hamra of the Dakhiliyah Governorate.
