Oman Schools Close Today Due to Bad Weather Conditions

In response to weather concerns, schools across most of Oman will be closed on Monday, February 12, with classes set to resume the following day.

School Closure Announcement

The official state-run news agency ONA announced that both public and private schools will suspend classes on Monday, February 12, due to prevailing weather conditions. However, schools in Al Wusta and Dhofar governates will remain operational.

Weather Forecast Alert

Meteorologists have forecasted heavy rainfall, strong winds, and potential hailstorms across the country in the coming days. Oman Meteorology issued a statement warning of heavy rain exceeding 60 mm, accompanied by downdraft winds of 15-35 knots. Additionally, poor horizontal visibility may result from dust rising during thunderstorms, with a possibility of hail and overflowing valleys.

Affected Governates

The adverse weather conditions are expected to impact several governates, including Musandam, North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, and Muscat.
