I was raised in a financially conscious family, and all the money-related rules became a sort of unnoticeable aspect of my life. The turning off of lights as soon as we left a room, the scrutinizing of receipts like they were homework, and every single purchase coming with a lesson were some of the aspects of the money rules dictated by my parents back then. They were only applying economic measures that were once forced upon them during hard times and had become second nature.
