A One-Stop Facility for Filipino Workers
The centre was inaugurated under the patronage of Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, and Dr Mahad bin Said bin Ali Baowain, Minister of Labour. It will handle the issuance of work visas based on employment contracts that are officially approved under Omani labour laws.
Designed as a comprehensive, one-stop shop, the centre offers essential services such as:
- Biometric registration
- Medical screening
- Employment contract attestation
- Pre-departure orientation sessions
- Information desk to answer queries about workers’ rights and responsibilities
These services are intended to help Filipino workers transition smoothly to their new roles in Oman, while ensuring employers are fully compliant with regulations.
Part of a Bigger Vision
The Manila centre is just the beginning. Oman plans to open similar centres in other key labour-sending countries as part of its strategy to promote lawful, ethical hiring practices that meet international labour standards.
Officials say this initiative also aligns with Oman’s broader vision to provide high-quality public services and strengthen the credibility of its labour market.
By streamlining the process and offering better support to workers, Oman is taking concrete steps to ensure a more sustainable and secure employment experience for everyone involved.
