Omani Citizens Granted Visa Exemption for Traveling to Türkiye

In a significant diplomatic development, citizens of the Sultanate of Oman holding ordinary passports are now exempt from visa requirements for tourism-related visits to Türkiye, as announced by the Turkish embassy in Muscat.

According to an official statement released by the embassy, the exemption is a result of the Presidential Decree No. 7976 issued on December 23rd, 2023. This decree signifies a pivotal decision aimed at fostering friendly relations between the two nations.

Effective immediately, Omani citizens with ordinary passports can enjoy visa-free travel to Türkiye for tourism purposes. The exemption allows a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period, providing Omani travelers with increased flexibility and ease for their visits.

This bilateral agreement reflects the commitment of both countries to enhancing diplomatic ties and promoting people-to-people connections. It is expected to encourage a boost in tourism, cultural exchanges, and business collaborations between Oman and Türkiye.

The embassy's announcement serves as a positive step towards facilitating smoother travel experiences for Omani citizens and fostering stronger bonds between Türkiye and the Sultanate of Oman. Travelers are advised to stay informed about the specific terms and conditions associated with the visa exemption to ensure compliance with regulations during their visits.
