Oman Condemns Deadly Bombing in Afghanistan

The Sultanate of Oman has vehemently condemned the recent bombing incident that shook Kandahar Province in southern Afghanistan.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, Oman expressed its unequivocal denunciation of the violent act, emphasizing its stance against any actions that undermine peace and stability.

"The Sultanate affirmed its categorical rejection of the use of violence and targeting of civilians and anything that destabilizes security and stability," the ministry stated. Oman extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and expressed solidarity with the Afghan people, wishing a swift recovery to those injured in the attack.

According to reports, the bombing occurred at a city center bank, resulting in casualties and injuries. While the Taliban government reported a death toll of three, the Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility for the attack, alleging it was aimed at the Taliban.

IS's "news agency" Amaq stated that the attacker detonated his suicide belt among a crowd of Taliban members, causing significant devastation.

The incident, considered one of the deadliest in Afghanistan this year, underscores the ongoing challenges to peace and security in the region.

Oman's condemnation reaffirms its commitment to promoting stability and condemning acts of violence that threaten the well-being of civilians.
