Oman to Have Six New Airports

Oman will have six new airports, which are expected to be operational by 2028 to 2029, according to the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Naif Al Abri.

With these new projects, the number of airports in Oman will increase to 13, improving domestic aviation, which will boost tourism in the country.

The chairman shared that the number of passengers using airports in Oman will go up to 50 million passengers by 2040 from 17 million passengers.

The budget for these six new airports has already been allocated and these new airports will link the logistics and tourism sectors to industrial areas of Sohar and Salalah.

The new Musandam Airport will be completed in the second half of 2028.
