Two Arrested in Al Dakhliyah for Attempting to Exchange Counterfeit Currency

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) in Al Dakhliyah Governorate have arrested two individuals accused of possessing and attempting to exchange counterfeit Omani currency.

According to ROP, the suspects were detained after trying to swap the fake notes for official currency at a local bank in the governorate. The quick response of the bank’s staff and the vigilance of law enforcement officers led to the prompt arrest of the individuals involved.

The incident underscores the ROP’s continued efforts to combat financial crimes and protect the integrity of the national currency. Legal actions against the two suspects are currently in progress, authorities confirmed.
