Al Jabal Al Akhdar Attracts Over 79,000 Visitors in Only Six Months

Over 79,000 people visited Al Jabal Al Akhdar during the first six months of 2023, according to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The statistics issued by the NCSI showed that the highest number of visitors from the Arab Gulf countries are hailing from Saudi Arabia.

The number of visitors to Jabal Al Akhdar in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate in the first half of this year came in at 79,034 visitors, out of which 28,406 were Omani visitors. 

Saudis topped the visitors from the Gulf countries with more than 3,848 visitors, followed by Kuwait with 611 visitors, the UAE with 329, and Qatar with 265.

The NCSI added that the number of visitors from other nationalities reached 45,302.

Al Jabal Al Akhdar is one of the Hajar Mountains in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman. It rises to a height of 2,980 meters and encompasses the Saiq Plateau at 2,000 meters above sea level. It is famous for its labyrinth of wadis and terraced orchards.
