Oman has been ranked the best country in Asia for quality of life and placed third worldwide in the Numbeo Quality of Life Index 2026 Mid-Year. This result highlights Oman’s strong position as one of the most attractive places to live in the region and beyond.
According to Numbeo, Oman scored 203.9 in the overall Quality of Life Index. This puts the Sultanate in third place globally, tied with Denmark. Only the Netherlands, with 205.6, and Luxembourg, with 204.8, ranked higher.
In Asia, Oman came first. Qatar followed in second place, while Japan ranked third.
The index looks at several key factors that affect daily life. These include purchasing power, safety, healthcare, cost of living, property price-to-income ratio, traffic commute time, pollution levels, and climate.
Oman’s strong result reflects its high safety levels, low pollution, good healthcare services, pleasant climate, and shorter commuting times. These factors helped the country lead both Asia and the Arab world in the latest ranking.
