Eight Risso's dolphins were stranded and washed up on the coast of the Wilayat of Hasik, according to the Directorate General of Environment in the Dhofar Governorate on Tuesday.

Seven of them were saved by the authority team, and they are all in good condition. However, one of them passed away, and its measurements and samples were obtained for the purpose of lab examinations and analysis.

“The Directorate General of Environment in Dhofar Governorate dealt with a report stating that eight Risso’s dolphin type was stranded, washed up on the coast of the Wilayat of Hasik,” the authority stated.

The temperate and tropical regions of all the oceans on the planet are home to Risso's dolphins, which are also known as gray dolphins. Since they can dive to a depth of at least 1,000 feet and hold their breath for 30 minutes, these dolphins often prefer deeper offshore waters. Typically, Risso's dolphins are found in packs of 10 to 30 animals.
