Al Mughsayl Beach

The fishing village of Mughsayl is located about 50km south of Salalah and has one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Oman. It is known for its paradisiacal lagoon, white sand and dark rocks that meet turquoise blue sea. 

However, during the monsoon from May to October, swimming in the sea can be life-threatening due to treacherous currents. 

Qurum Beach 

Located in Muscat, this beach is one of the longest beaches in Oman. The coastline can go as far as 4km into the water at low tide. The beach is lively with water sports such as jetskis. It has plenty of palm trees which make it a great location for picnics.

Tiwi Beach

Tiwi Beach has some of the bluest waters of any beach in Oman, with soft white sand. The waters here are wonderfully clear, making for a popular snorkelling spot, where you can see batfish, sea snakes or even stingrays. If the ocean water is too cold for your liking, there are always the close-by rock pools that are warmer. 

Qantab Beach

Qantab is a fairly rocky beach. There are many fascinating rock formations along the rocky shore, which can make for an interesting walk along the beach during low tide. This beach has kayaks available for rent to explore the beach's azure waters.

Ras al Jinz Beach

Ras al Jinz Beach is lined by cliffs up to 20 metres high and is mainly known as a turtle beach with the Ras al Jinz Turtle Reserve. During guided tours, the females can be observed laying their eggs, especially from August to October.

Yiti Beach

Yiti Beach is located in the village of the same name in the north of Oman. It is a long sandy sweep protected by rocks and backed by rugged slopes, popular for camping and fishing. The picturesque sandy beach is often busy, especially on Omani weekends, Fridays and Saturdays, due to its proximity to Muscat.

Mirbat Beach

The picturesque Mirbat Beach is a fantastic diving spot with shipwrecks and huge schools of fish, some of which are still completely unexplored. However, due to its secluded location about an hour's drive east of Salalah, the bays around Mirbat are almost deserted.
